* Nonstop flight flies directly from point A to point B with no stops.
* Direct flight flies from point A to point B with at least one, if not several, stops along the way.
* Connecting flight means that you’ll not only have to stop over along the way from point A to point B, but you might also have to get out and make another flight to complete your trip.
* Nontransferable means that the ticket can be used only by the person whose name is listed on it. Some airlines may have different policies regarding this term. Find out what it means for your particular tickets.
* Nonrefundable means that you won’t get a refund for the amount of the ticket if you don’t use it. Check the issuing airline’s policy to find out the exact meaning as it applies to your ticket(s).
Find the best way to get you there
* If cost is a factor for you, the cheapest way to go may not be the most convenient. Usually, the cheapest flights are the most inconvenient in terms of time.
* Frequent flyer programs award points differently for each of the three options.
* If you’re going on a very long trip, say to Australia, you might find it more enjoyable to have a short stopover. This is a matter of your personal preferences and the length of the trip and the stopover.
* For most trips, nonstop flights are the quickest and simplest way to get to your destination. There are no stops or transfers to deal with, no running through airports to get your connecting flight, and less chance of losing your luggage. |
